Kate Collier, Partner, Webber Wentzel


Kate is a specialist in the field of occupational health and safety law, working with clients across various sectors including those in the agriculture, food and beverages sector. Kate leads the Webber Wentzel occupational health and safety team, which advises and works with clients on a broad range of OHS legal matters, from regulatory advice, conducting OHS related investigations, and to representation of employers in statutory inquiries and corporate prosecutions.

Kate has a particular interest in the management and understanding of OHS risks in commercial transactions including large disposals or acquisitions of businesses. Her legal expertise in this field, coupled with her practical safety management qualifications make her uniquely placed to partner with clients on their journey to ensure real safeguarding of employee health and safety in the workplace, and to appreciate the strategic business importance of this within business ethics and sustainability management and not only as a pure compliance obligation. Kate's expertise has been recognised by various international research organisations including Chambers Global, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers.

She holds a BA and LLB degrees from the University of Witwatersrand. She has certificates in implementation of occupational health and safety management systems and auditing and holds an International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), (IDipNEBOSH)
