Anne-Marie de Beer, Head: Nutrition, Health & Wellness, Nestlé East & Southern Africa Region


Anne-Marié De Beer is an accomplished Registered Dietitian with over two decades of experience in nutrition, dietetics, and health promotion. She holds a BSc in Dietetics from Potchefstroom University (now North-West University), a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Dietetics from Pretoria University, and a BSc Honours from Potchefstroom University. She has also completed leadership and management programs through the University of Cape Town and GiBs Business School.

Anne-Marié began her career as a Community Nutritionist for the Department of Health, later becoming the first dietitian at Johannesburg Metro Council, where she focused on health promotion and nutrition support. She then joined Nestlé South Africa, where she held leadership roles in Medical and Scientific Affairs for over 20 years. Since February 2020, Anne-Marié has served as the Nutrition Health and Wellness Manager for Nestlé East & Southern Africa. In this role, she oversees the nutritional quality of Nestlé brands and supports consumers in integrating them into balanced diets.

Her key achievements include founding the Gauteng Breastfeeding Forum and the African Paediatric Gastroenterology Forum, as well as developing a comprehensive continuing professional development (CPD) program for health professionals across Africa. She also played a pivotal role in the creation of the NNIA website, which is available in English, French, and Portuguese.

Anne-Marié is a member of the Association for Dietetics in Southern Africa, the Nutrition Society, and holds associate membership with the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. She is also registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
